Motorcycle Fatality in Adams County

A crash with a dog killed one and seriously injured another on a motorcycle Thursday.

The Georgetown Post of the Highway Patrol reports that at about 7pm February 23rd, 35-year-old Larry K. Robinson of West Portsmouth was eastbound on a 2016 Harley Davidson Road Glide Special on US 52 in Monroe Township in Adams County.

22-year-old Brooke N. Zaph of South Shore, Kentucky was a passenger. The motorcycle struck a dog that ran out in the roadway and Zaph was thrown from the motorcycle, which went off the left side and struck a guardrail.

Zaph was pronounced dead at the scene by the Adams County Coroner. Robinson was transported by Manchester EMS to Southern Ohio Medical Center and then taken by Portsmouth EMS to Grant Medical Center in Columbus with serious injuries.

Neither was wearing a helmet. The crash remains under investigation by the Georgetown Post.
