Free Support Groups and Educational Classes

(Washington Court House) - Fayette County Memorial Hospital (FCMH) has scheduled a series of free support groups and educational classes for interested community members.


“Our mission is to improve the health and wellness of the community by providing high-quality patient care and education,” said Marketing Director Whitney Gentry, “our providers and staff members are eager to help patients be the best they can be.”


The series of classes are offered are as follows:


Women of Change: Join Dr. Cynthia Morris as she explores the book “Should I Fire My Doctor” by Patricia Sulak, MD. Learn how to take ownership of your health to ultimately decrease your need for office visits and prescriptions. 


Books, information and class schedule will be available at the January 10th meeting. Dr. Morris invites any menopausal women to join her for this journey! Meetings held the second Thursday of each month, 7:00pm at the Women’s Wellness Center in Medical Arts Building 2 (MAB2).


Diabetes Education: Join Mary Dye, RN for FCMH for the latest information about diabetes and learn how to take charge of your condition, rather than let diabetes control you. Classes held the 3rd Monday of each month, 6:30pm in the MAB2 Classroom.


Cancer Support Group: Let by cancer survivor and FCMH Leader of Patient Safety Tiffany Hollar, this class is open to any patient, survivor or caregiver touched by any type of cancer. Meetings are held the second Wednesday of each month, 5:30pm in the MAB2 Classroom.


Walk With a Doc: The public is invited to join Dr. Marta Gryniuk for a free walking program the second Saturday of each month at 8:00am. Walks are held at the YMCA Indoor Track until the weather warms up, at which time the group will walk around the reservoir. This casual group walk is open to all types of walkers.
