Sharon Kay Carson

Sharon Kay Carson, 63, of Washington Court House, Ohio died Friday, November 17, 2017, at 10:03 p.m. at her home. 

Sharon was born February 3, 1954, in Washington Court House, Ohio to Wilma Ludene Smith.  She was a 1972 graduate of Miami Trace High School and lived most of her life in this community.

She had worked at Crestar Foods in Washington Court House for 12 years and New Sabina Industries for 14 years.

Sharon was a member of the St. Benignus Catholic Church in Greenfield.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Wilma and Charles Mathews; her grandfather, Austin Smith and a great aunt, Edith Binegar.

 Sharon is survived by her husband, Joseph A. Carson whom she married July 17, 1976; twin daughters, Kristi Jo Slavens and her husband, Michael, of Washington Court House and Kami Kay Barnes and her husband, Jacob, of Trenton, Ohio; three grandchildren; Kayci Carson, Katie Slavens and Dylan Slavens; and two brothers and sisters-in-law, James and Virginia Mathews of Jamestown and Joseph and Tammy Mathews of Greenfield, a sister, Kathe Bennett-Johnson and her husband, Michael, of Washington Court House; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Teresa and Dan Allison of Leesburg, Edna Carson Maxwell of Greenfield and Rita and Robert Wheaton of New Martinsburg and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

The funeral will be Wednesday, November 22, 2017, at 11 a.m. at the St. Benignus Catholic Church, 204 South Second Street, Greenfield, Ohio with the Rev. Father Mike Paraniuk, pastor at the church, officiating.  Burial will follow in the St. Colman Catholic Cemetery in Washington Court House.

Friends may call at the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Washington Court House Tuesday from 4:00-8:00 p.m. where a Rosary service, led by Father Sean Dooley, will be held Tuesday at 8:15 p.m.
