Franklin J. Wall

Franklin J. Wall, 84, of Wilmington, Ohio passed away Friday, November 10, 2017 at his home.  His wife, Elizabeth “Betty” Stingley Wall, survives.  They were married August 31, 1956.  Mr. Wall was born August 20, 1933 in Dayton, Ohio, son of the late Granville and Irene Grimme Wall.  He was a 1954 graduate of Xenia High School and served as a SPF4 paratrooper in the U.S. Army Airborne during Korea.

Mr. Wall retired from GTE after 36 years as an installer and repairman.  He was a member of the Kentucky Avenue Church of Christ, the Clinton County Farmer’s and Sportsmen’s Club, the Wilmington Lions Club, the Clinton County Antique Power Club, the National Rifle Association, the Wilmington Savings Bank Clinton Co. Senior Center, Pheasants Forever.  He served as the county chairman for Turn In a Poacher and was an Honor Flight participant in May 2015.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Wall is survived by a son, Thomas J. (Donna) Wall of Wilmington, Ohio; three daughters, Debra (Tim) Henry of Martinsville, Ohio, Constance M. Wall of Wilmington, Ohio, and Dianna (Michael) Wiswell of Wilmington, Ohio; a brother, Clarence E. Wall of Xenia, Ohio; a sister, Betty Wilt of Middletown, Ohio; ten grandchildren, Lisa (Tony) Camacho, Kevin Wall, Ryan Wall, Hillary (Andy) Battrell, Rebecca Henry, Jill (Tony) Naylor, Tyler (Sheena) Henry, Jenna Henry, Lane Wiswell, and Emily Wiswell; and five great grandchildren, Nicholas Battrell, Abbigayle Battrell, Ava Naylor, Jett Naylor, and Hudson Henry.  In addition to his parents, two brothers, Ralph Wall and George Wall, and two sisters, Charlotte Karl and Ruth Stingley, are preceded in death.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Thursday, November 16, 2017 at Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home, 327 N. South Street, Wilmington, Ohio with Dan Peters officiating.  Burial will be in Clinton County Memory Gardens with military honors provided by the Wilmington American Legion Post 49 Honor Guard.  Friends will be received from 12:00 Noon – 2:00 PM, Thursday, November 16, 2017 at Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home.
