Maggie Faye Shoemaker, age 85, of Mt. Sterling, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at Madison County Hospital.
She retired from the State of Ohio as a Business Manager with the State Psychiatric Hospital on West Broad Street in Columbus after 25 years of service.
Maggie was preceded in death by her parents John and Nannie Davis, her husband L.R. “Ray” Shoemaker, son John Shockley, daughters Carmen Boggs and Connie Shockley, grandson Zachary Shockley, daughter-in-law Janet Shockley, sister Margie Stickel and brothers Cliff, John, Gordon and Don Davis.
Maggie is survived by her son Mark (Robin) Shockley of Grove City, OH, daughter Chris (Jerry Timmons) Shockley of Mt. Sterling, her six grandchildren: Eric Rice, April (Chuck) Flora, Scott (Debbie) Rice, Caryn (Andy) Dinneen, Kristin (Jennifer) Shockley and Travis (Jenny) Kemper, twelve great-grandchildren: Jacob Rice, Caleb Rice, Zachary Barney, Drake Barney, Dillan Rice, Allison Dinneen, Ashley Dinneen, Drew Dinneen, Taylor Shockley, Carter Shockley, Parker Shockley and Gage Kemper, great-grandson Remington Barney, sisters: Barbara (Bob) Redding of London, Sheila (Don) Conley of Jeffersonville, OH and Shirley Young of Wilmington, NC, sister-in-law Marie Davis of South Bloomfield, OH, brother-in-law Cy Stickel of Ashville, OH, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Family will receive friends from 11:00a.m.-1:00p.m. SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 11, 2017 at the PORTER-TIDD FUNERAL HOME, 331 West Main Street, Mt. Sterling, OH 43143 (740)-869-2777 where her Funeral Service will follow the visitation and begin at 1:00p.m.
