Howard Boggs Sr.

Howard Boggs Sr. 81 of Sabina, went to be with the Lord on Saturday November 4th surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Fayette County Ohio to Sam and Dora Boggs.

A 1953 graduate of Washington High School, Howard enjoyed playing baseball in his younger days. On October 23, 1955, he married his sweetheart Mary Elizabeth Mongold also of Washington Court House. The couple recently celebrated 62 years of true wedded bliss. Howard and Mary attended the Sabina Church of Christ. With an infectious personality and a pocket full of ink pens, Howard never met a stranger. His quick wit, work ethic, and willingness to go the extra mile were what made people so attracted to him. The bonds he formed serving his customers over the 50 years of service in the auto parts industry brought tremendous enjoyment in his life.

After his retirement, Howard worked for the Community Action of Highland County. As a highly respected singer, Howard sang at many local and regional venues including: Frontier Ranch, Colony Theater, Ernest Tubb Record Shop, and the Murphy Theater. He performed on several radio and television programs, and at countless festivals throughout the United States. Howard loved to share the stage, having the opportunity to sing with Marty Robbins, Connie Smith, Jesse Littleton, as well as many of his dearest friends who meant the world to him. Later in life, Howard enjoyed singing the national anthem at various sporting venues in Clinton County. This was his way of honoring his country, his three brothers, one son, and three grandchildren whom fought to defend it.

Howard is survived by his Wife (Mary), children: Howard Jr. (Kristin) of Cincinnati, Ohio; Kristi (Virgil) Adkins, Bruce (Nancy), Dora Boggs-Brady, Chuck (Shelly), and Micki Boggs Butler, all of Sabina, Ohio; 20 grandchildren, and 26 great-grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers (Robert, Sam JR., Bill (K.I.A.-Korea), Jimmy), three sisters (Virginia Sanderson, Irene Shaffer, Charlotte Boggs), two grandchildren (Dominick Howard Brady, Ashley Boggs-Fizer), one great-grandchild (Libby Faith Creamer).
