Kenneth W. Kirkpatrick

Kenneth W. (Kenny Kirk) Kirkpatrick, 82, of New Holland, Ohio died Saturday, September 9, 2017, at 9:4 p.m. at his home.

Kenny was born August 24, 1935, in New Holland, Ohio to Joseph Wendell and Pauline M. Cottrill Kirkpatrick.  He was a 1954 graduate of New Holland High School and was the winner of the Bob Bowsher Trophy.  He was a lifelong resident of New Holland.

He was a retired farmer and owner, breeder and trainer of standard bred race horses.

Kenny was a member of the New Holland United Methodist Church where he had been a trustee; was the oldest living member and past vice-president of the New Holland Lions Club; was a member of the United States Trotting Association; Ohio and Fayette County Harness Horsemen’s Associations; the Fayette County Farm Bureau and the National Rifle Association.

He is survived by his wife, the former Jo Ann (Jodi) Cockerill whom he married June 6, 1954; two sons, Kenneth McKinley (Kenny Mac) Kirkpatrick of New Holland and his fiancée, Becky Griffith, and Bradley Joe Kirkpatrick of New Holland; a granddaughter, Kara Kirkpatrick Polichetti and her husband, John, and two great grandchildren, Johnny and Kinlee Polichetti, all of Columbus.

The funeral will be Thursday, September 14, 2017, at 10:30 a.m. at the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in New Holland with the Rev. Brian Dunham, pastor at the New Holland United Methodist Church, officiating.  Burial will follow in the New Holland Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home in New Holland from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday where a Lions Club service will be held Wednesday at 8 p.m.
