Carlisle Defeats Miami Trace 35-19

The Carlisle Indians dominated the first half of play against the Miami Trace Panthers, Friday night, and it proved to be enough for a 35-19 victory.

Carlisle scored on the first play of their first possession on a wide receiver pass from Dakota Milligan to Zac Reed to take a 7-0 lead at the 9:41 mark and never looked back. Late in the first, Miami Trace went to the wildcat, putting senior running back Brady Wallace in position and the Panthers were able to move the ball going 50 yards in 5:03 to tie the game at 7-7, closing out the first quarter.

The second quarter belonged to Carlisle and Dakota Milligan; he had touchdown runs of 63 yards and 6 yards to put the Indians up 21-7. Then, with under a minute to play in the half, Carlisle quarterback Jake Moore took it to the house from 53 yards out to put them up 28-7 at the half.

The Indians got the ball first to start the third quarter and scored on the first play from scrimmage. Again, it was Milligan taking it 70 yards for the score, but it was their final score of the night. After that Miami Trace was able to get some momentum behind Brady Wallace as he scored from 30 yards out to cut the lead to 35-13.

Brady then had 1-yard run at the 10 minute mark of the fourth quarter to make it 35-19 to close out scoring.

Brady Wallace ended the game with 206 yards rushing on 35 carries; the team had 212 total yards. The Panthers (0-2) take on Logan Elm next week.

Carlisle ended the game with 258 total yards (203 in the first half ) and only managed 4 first downs. Milligan ended the night with three touchdowns on 6 carries for 105 yards and threw a TD pass.
