Ross County Man Lied About Missing Woman

A 38-year-old Ross County man arrested Monday following a weekend search of Ross Lake for the body of Wanda Lemmons, one of Chillicothe's missing women. Jeremy Ault, of Lakewood Drive, was arrested on a charge of Inducing Panic.

The arrest was a result of an investigation by the Ross County Sheriff’s Office and Chillicothe Police Department that started on August 24th after Chillicothe Police received a Facebook message from an account that said they had information that the body of Lemmons had been dumped in the lake. Multiple agencies searched the waters and surrounding area of Ross Lake on Friday and Saturday but nothing was found. After obtaining search warrants, Ault was arrested at his home where he provided authorities a full confession. Additional felony charges against Ault are pending.

The search of the lake has been called off. Captain Mike Preston of the Sheriff's Office says Sheriff George Lavender and Police Chief Keith Washburn want to express their appreciation to the agencies that assisted in the search.
