William Howard "Pee Wee" Yoakum Jr.

WILLIAM HOWARD “PEE WEE” YOAKUM JR., age 46, of Washington CH, passed away on Friday, August 18, 2017.

He was born on October 20, 1970 in Highland County to William Howard and Kathy Jean Calhoun Yoakum. He attended McClain High School and studied welding at Laurel Oaks. Pee Wee had been employed as a roofer and a home remodeler. Many described him as “having a heart of gold”. He enjoyed playing the drums, listening to Rock “n” Roll, enjoyed following the Atlanta Falcons but most importantly, he loved his family and grandchildren.

Pee Wee was preceded in death by his father, William Howard Yoakum Sr., and his grandparents, Milton and Nettie Yoakum, and Robert “Hap” Calhoun, and Katie McDonald.

Survivors include his mother, Kathy Jean Calhoun Yoakum; his children, Sara Throckmorton, Brandie (Josh) Lindsey, Shawn Yoakum, and Devvinn Yoakum; grandchildren, Jayden, Davion, Kailyn, Madison, Peyton, Sawyer, Bryson, and Aurora; his best friend and soul mate, Tammy Throckmorton; siblings, Butch (Angie) Yoakum, Jason (Amanda) Yoakum, and Amy Yoakum Foster; step-grandmother, Phyllis Calhoun; special sister and friend, Melissa Turner; and his special nephew, Dusty Yoakum. Also surviving are several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, August 25, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Kathy and Jason Yoakum officiating. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Friday evening from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service. A private graveside service will be held at the Highlawn Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
