Lemuel E. "Gene" Thompson

Lemuel E. “Gene” Thompson, 63, of Frankfort, died unexpectedly on Sunday, August 20, 2017 at his home. He was born on October 17, 1953 in New Holland, the son of Stanley and Jane Sims Thompson. On September 13, 1971 he married the former Karen Hughes who survives.

 

In addition to his wife, Gene is survived by his mother, Jane Hatmacher of Frankfort, three daughters; Amy (Ted) Cox of Chillicothe, Joni (Brett) Collins of Londonderry, Sarah Adams (Ed Greene) of Williamsport, two sons; Gene (Tidy) Thompson of Frankfort and Jack (Lynn) Thompson of Chillicothe, sixteen grandchildren, four great grandchildren, three sisters; Wanda (Ernie) Cremeans of Clarksburg, Brenda (Terry) Amspaugh of Millersport, Darla (Roger) Foltz of Newark, two brothers; Lee (Randi) Hatmacher of Chillicothe, Rick (Cindy) Thompson of Buckeye Lake, one sister-in-law; Heidi Thompson of Buckeye Lake. He was preceded in death by one son; Steven Eugene Thompson, one grandson; Tommy Thompson, his father; Stanley Thompson, his step father; Lee Hatmacher and one brother; Brian Thompson.

 

Gene had worked as a truck driver. He loved his hobbies of fishing, hunting, four wheeling and watching western movies.

 

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, August 24, 2017 in the EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME, Frankfort with Pastor Shaun Howard officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort. Friends may visit with the Thompson family on Thursday at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the time of the service.
