Evelyn J. Mowbray

Evelyn J. Mowbray, 95, of Chillicothe and formerly of Bainbridge, died on August 10, 2017 at her home. She was born on February 10, 1922 in Ross County, the daughter of the late John E. and Myrtle M. Riley Copper. On August 10, 1940 she married J. Arlo Mowbray, who preceded her in death on October 10, 2003, after 63 years of marriage. They were finally reunited on their 77th anniversary.

Surviving are one daughter, Carolyn Peplow of Chillicothe, one foster son, E. Richard Borland of Greenwood SC, two grandchildren, Jimmy (Shannon Berry) Glandon, Janie (Brian Campbell) Glandon, two foster grandchildren, Ryan Borland, Wendy Parker, three great-grandchildren, Heather, Heidi, Nic, nine great-great-grandchildren, Alex, Alyssa, Andrew, Lester, Dale, Carlee, River, Avery Evelyn, Ralston, two step great-great-grandchildren, Lianna, Braelyn, nieces and nephews, including a special nephew and his wife, Charles and Evelyn Mowbray. She was preceded in death by one great-great-grandchild, River Weber, five sisters, Dorothy Fannon, Ethel and Alice Copper, Ruth Howard, Opal Copper, two brothers, Richard and Jack Copper, and two sons-in-law, Teddy Glandon and Gary Peplow.

Evelyn worked for many years as a caregiver and attended Fruit Hill Church of Christ in Christian Union. The family wishes to express their thanks to the National Church Residence Hospice and Day Care staff for the care they provided to Evelyn.

A funeral service will be held at 1p.m. on Monday, August 14, 2017 in the EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME, Frankfort, with Rev. Fred Fox officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort.
