Bonnie Jane Huff

Bonnie Jane Huff, 86, of Wilmington, Ohio passed away 1:32 PM, Sunday, July 23, 2017 at Clinton Memorial Hospital.  She was born March 9, 1931 in Clinton County, Ohio, daughter of the late Levi and Violet McKinney Polk.  Bonnie was descended from Captain William Polk (her great-great-great-grandfather) who fought in the Revolutionary War defending the colonists on the Eastern Shore in Accomack, Virginia.

Bonnie worked many years at the Little Giant Restaurant in downtown Wilmington. She retired from Marriott Food Services on the Wilmington College Campus.  Bonnie recently celebrated her 86th birthday in Wilmington where she has spent most of her life except for a few years in Muncie, Indiana.  She was an avid fisher-woman and gardener.  She was a past volunteer at Your Father’s Kitchen and helped with the annual Thanksgiving dinner at Wendy’s Restaurant in Wilmington.

Bonnie is survived by her children, Sandra (Joe) Daugherty and Ronald “Butch” Cox; six grandchildren, Michael (Wendy) Daugherty, Matthew (Gordana) Daugherty, Emily (Brian) Stephens, Rhonda Cox, Rita (Alex) Arguetta, and Roxanne Bustamante; 17 great-grandchildren, Michael Thomas Daugherty Jr., Mary Daugherty, Josiah Daugherty, Adriana Farrell, Dylan Daugherty, Brayden Stephens, Leah Thomson, Jasmine Thomson, Julian Cox, Rosa Arguetta, Justin Arguetta, Jonathon Arguetta, Lincoln Arguetta, Dominic Bustamante, Giovanni Bustamante, Angelo Bustamante, and Ayden Bustamante; and three great-great-grandchildren, Adriana, Kingsley, and Evangeline.

A graveside service will be held 1:00 PM, Friday, July 28, 2017 at Sugar Grove Cemetery, Wilmington, Ohio with Judge Michael Daugherty officiating.
