Mary Ellen Cox Davis, 91, died Saturday, July 22, 2017 peacefully at her daughter’s home with her family by her side. Mary was born February 21, 1926 in Sedan, Ohio daughter of the late Lawrence Cox and Forest Willis Stephenson. Mary married the late Thomas C. Davis on February 28, 1958 and they shared 52 loving years together.
Mary was a member of the Saint Columbkille Catholic Church and spent most of her adult life as a seamstress for many in the community.
Mary is survived by a son, Tony Davis of Blanchester; a daughter, Susan (Gary) Frazier of Wilmington; two grandsons, Thomas Davis and Russell Frazier; a sister-in-law Janice Stephenson of Wilmington; several nieces and nephews; and a host of family and friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Albert Cox and John Cox; her sisters, Catherine Dillow and Pauline Watson, and her half-brother Gene Stephenson.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 12:00 Noon, Thursday, July 27, 2017 at St. Columbkille Catholic Church, 73 N. Mulberry St. Wilmington, Ohio with Rev. Michael Holloran, celebrant. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the Mass at the church from 11:00 AM until 12:00 Noon. Burial will follow in Sugar Grove Cemetery.
