7/22/19 Road work has begun on Antioch Rd. as part of a road improvement project between Tilton Rd. and SR 28. As part of this project Scissorville Rd. (Careytown Rd.) & Moore Rd. will also b e closed at their intersection with Antioch Rd. The detour will be STate Rt. 28 and Bernard Road and will be signed accordingly. The project should be complete in 90 days.


7/22/19 SR 41 between Prairie Rd. and Boomingburg-New Holland Rd.

  • July 22 at 7 AM:SR 41 will close for two weeks for a culvert replacement
  • Detour:Take SR 41 to US 62 to SR 38 to SR 734 to SR 41 and reverse
  • August 3 at 3:30 PM: All lanes open

On Monday, April 29, ODOT will begin a project to improve US 22 (Washington Ave.) between US 62 (Columbus Ave) and SR 753 (Stuckey Rd). 

  • US 22 will be resurfaced between South Elm St. and SR 753
  • The pavement will be completely reconstructed between South Elm and US 62

In order to reconstruct the pavement, US 22 (Washington Ave) will be EASTBOUND ONLY between US 62 (Columbus Ave) and South Elm Street beginning Monday until mid-September. The detour for westbound traffic is SR 753 to US 62 to US 22. 


8/15/19 ODOT’s Highland County maintenance crews will close Spickard Road at its junction with U.S. 50 to replace a deteriorated pipe at the routes' intersection. The closure will be in effect from approximately 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and while the route is closed, motorists will be detoured via T.R. 126 (Oldaker Road) and C.R. 6 (Russell Road).

U.S. 50 will remain open to traffic; however, motorists are advised of the need for additional caution in the area as they will be entering and exiting the work zone.

POSTPONED/TBD:S.R. 785 will be closed during daytime business hours between S.R. 247 and Parr Road for a slide repair project. The route will be closed Monday through Wednesday from approximately 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day, with it open to evening and overnight travel. Motorists will be detoured via S.R. 247 and S.R. 73 during periods of closure.

U.S. 50 has been reopened between North Beach and Worley Mill roads, midway between the communities of Boston and Rainsboro, following a bridge replacement project. Crews have minor finishing work to complete; however, traffic will be maintained by flaggers when crews are at work. All work is scheduled to be completed by late August. (#18-0559)

Construction is under way for a roadway improvement project on T.R. 225B (Tolle Road), where crews are widening the shoulder, repairing pavement and drainage and correcting curve alignment between U.S. 50 and S.R. 138. The route will be closed for up to 60 days, and while the route is closed, traffic will be detoured by way of S.R. 138, C.R. 7 and U.S. 50. All work is scheduled to be completed in the fall. A resurfacing project is nearing completion on S.R. 753, from U.S. 50 at Rainsboro to C.R. 25 (Paint Creek Road). Crews will also be paving S.R. 138, from U.S. 62 in Hillsboro to T.R. 288 (Rittenhouse Road). Traffic will be maintained on both routes with the use of flaggers, and the project is scheduled to be completed in August. (#18-0610)

Construction for a realignment/widening project on C.R. 5 (Prospect Road), between S.R. 73 and S.R. 124, continues and Prospect Road is closed between T.R. 192 (Main Road) and T.R. 264 (Herbert Road). Traffic will be detoured by way of T.R. 192 (Main Road). Other local roadways should not be affected during this phase of construction, and all work is anticipated to be completed in late summer.
