Norma Jean McDaniels Parks

NORMA JEAN McDANIELS PARKS, age 90, of Washington CH, passed away on Saturday, July 1, 2017 at 8:31 a.m. at her home.

She was born on February 8, 1927 in Jackson, Ohio to Bushmell and Ethel Spriggs McDaniels. She was a 1944 graduate of Jackson High School. Norma had worked at Fayette County Memorial Hospital in the billing department for several years. She was a member of the Sugar Grove United Methodist Church and was also an associate member at the Colony Community Church in Port Orange, Florida. She enjoyed crocheting, playing her organ, listening to The Gaither Vocal Band, and being with her family and friends.

Norma was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Norman W. Parks, whom she married on January 31, 1951; and her son, Daniel Parks.

Survivors include her children, Stephen (Vicki) Parks of Catlettsburg, KY, Kathy (Jerry) Pendleton of Washington CH, and Douglas Parks of New Holland; grandchildren, Andy Parks, Brian Parks, Rachel Parks, Nikki (Chris) Riffe, Erin (Mike) Mathews, Taylor Parks and her fiancé, Major Robertson, Kristen (Shane) Merritt, Rebecca (Kevin) McAveeney, Katie (Denham) Miranda, and Amanda Parks; great-grandchildren, Ashleigh Riffe, Kendelle Woods, Cameron Parks, Balen and Frankie Helsel, and Liam and Luke Mathews; and her special friends and caregivers, Beverly Darden, Sandy Baker, and Traci Johnson. Also surviving are several cousins and a host of friends.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the Judy Chapel in the Washington Cemetery with Chaplin Jeff Davis officiating with burial to follow. Friends may visit at the Judy Chapel on Saturday afternoon from 1:30 p.m. until the time of service.
