Troy Sandlin

Troy  Sandlin, 

age 81, of Wilmington, Ohio, passed away early Friday Morning, June 2, 2017  at home.

 

 He was born March 21, 1936 in Doorway, Kentucky, son of the late Elisha & Emma (Caldwell) Sandlin.  On November 13, 1962 in Tennessee, he married Ronna Lou (Harner) Sandlin, who survives.

Troy owned and operated T & M Food Mart on SR 730 for 25 years.  Troy had also been employed at Valley Steel, was a furniture Upholster and a semi driver for Palm Harbor Homes.   He had served in the US Army during the Korean War.  

In addition to his wife, other surviving family members are his son- Rick (Dwan) Sandlin, Clarksville; daughter- Shirley Perdue, Wilmington; grandchildren- Nick (Tiffaney) Sandlin, Wesley (Traci Hofer) Sandlin, & Ciara Perdue; great-grandchildren- Lacie & Alyssa Sandlin and Eli Wright, all of Wilmington; 5 brothers- Leo (Bonnie) Sandlin,Paul Sandlin, Wilson (Debbie) Sandlin, George (Heidi) Sandlin, Danny (Lisa) Sandlin; 5 sisters- Jean Werner, Mary Jane Fry, Thelma (Chuck) Morris, Christine (Richard) Fry, & Alice (Bert) Howard; brother-in-law- Benny (Janice) Harner; sister-in-law- Patty (Mark) Taylor; several nieces and nephews and his beloved dog- Zoey.

 

In addition to his parents, Troy was preceded in death by a daughter- Sharon Kay; son-in-law- Tom Perdue; & brothers-in-law- Robert Werner, Clyde Fry, & Phillip David Harner Sr.

 

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM, Monday, June 5, 2017 at the Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home, 97 West Locust Street at North Mulberry Street, Wilmington  with  Pastor Dan Mayo officiating.  Interment will follow in the Clinton County Memory Gardens, Wilmington, where the Wilmington American Legion Post #49 Memorial Squad will accord full military honors.  Honorary Pallbearers will be  Paul Sandlin, Danny Sandlin, George Sandlin, & Benny Harner.  Active Pallbearers will be Rick Sandlin, Nick Sandlin, Ciara Perdue, Wesley Sandlin, Leo Sandlin, & Wilson Sandlin.

Friends will be received from 10 Am to 11 AM, Monday, June 5  at Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home.
