Norman Wayne Bennett

Norman Wayne Bennett, 78, of Washington Court House, Ohio died Monday, May 29, 2017, at 4:20 p.m. in Washington Court House following a short illness.

Norman was born December 21, 1938, in Sabina, Ohio to Arlo and Mildred Rinehart Bennett.  He lived most of his life in the Milledgeville community before moving to Washington Court House.

Before his retirement, he was a supervisor at Candle-Lite Company in Leesburg.

Norman was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.  He loved to garden and in his younger years was an avid softball player.

He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Doris Gwendolyn Grimm on August 24, 2014; by a son, Larry Joe Bennett in 1985; three brothers, Leroy, Robert and Richard Bennett and a sister, Betty Justice.

Norman is survived by his special friends and caregivers with whom he made his home, Pam and Terry Kitchen of Washington Court House; three step-children and their spouses, Ike and Sherry Holbert of Springfield, OH, Jill  and Mark Paessun of Columbus and Rita and Greg Remy of Davenport, FL; a grandson, Kyle Bennett of Jamestown, Ohio; two great granddaughters; several step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Kathe Bennett of Washington Court House; two brothers, Roger Bennett and his wife, Phyllis, of Sabina and Jack Bennett of Tennessee; two sisters, Shirley Elzey of Blanchester and Dorothy Clark of  Frankfort and friend and caregiver,  Gale Thompson of Washington Court House.

     The funeral will be Friday, June 2, 2017, at 1 p.m. at the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Washington Court House with Danny Dodds, minister at the Greenfield Church of Christ, officiating.  Burial will follow in the Milledgeville-Plymouth Cemetery.

     Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 6-8 p.m.
