Manuel G. "Poncho" Miramontez

MANUEL G. “PONCHO” MIRAMONTEZ, age 84, of Washington CH, passed away on Sunday, May 7, 2017 at 8:34 a.m. at St. Catherine’s Manor of Washington CH.

He was born on May 26, 1932 in Los Angeles, California to Marcos Flores and Andrea Garcia Miramontez. Manuel proudly served his country is the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He retired from Cortec Industries and most recently worked for Versa Conveyors in London, Ohio. He enjoyed working, and being with his family and grandchildren.

Manuel was preceded in death by his parents; and two grandsons, Billy Rankin, and Travis Putney; sisters, Tillie Gomez, Carlotta Miramontez, and Isabelle Serrano; and brothers, Clem Miramontez, and Arthur Miramontez.

Survivors include his children, Leonard Miramontez of Indiana, Marcos Miramontez of Washington CH, Kathy (Chuck) Putney of Washington CH, Beth (John) Rankin of Washington CH, and Christina Billue of Columbus; grandchildren, Jessica, Jacque, Jacob, and Jeremy Miramontez, Tonya Putney, Amber (Rick) Dossenbach, and Ashley (Mike) Atkinson, Laura (Joey) Steele, Trevor (Megan) Temple, Erin, and Trinity Billue; 13 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; sister, Petra Gonzales; special friend, Cindy Harper; and Mother of his children, Frances (Jack) Brown. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Father Michael Hartge officiating with burial to follow at St. Coleman’s Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Friday evening from 5-8:00 p.m., a prayer vigil will be held at 5:00 p.m.
