William B. "Bill" Sizemore Sr.

WILLIAM B. “BILL” SIZEMORE SR., age 74, of Washington CH, passed away on Friday, May 5, 2017 at 12:41 a.m. at his home.

He was born on January 3, 1943 in Combs, Kentucky to Manford and Alveda Begley Sizemore. Bill proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Cuban Crisis.  He retired after 33 years of truck driving for various companies and was a two time member of the Million Mile Club. He enjoyed driving his truck, fishing, and watching old Westerns.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents and infant sister, Patricia Ann Sizemore.

Survivors include his loving wife, Isabelle Grant Sizemore, whom he married on October 3, 1963; children, William B. Sizemore Jr. of Centerville, Michael E. Sizemore of Columbus, Shannon A. (Tina) Sizemore of Washington CH, Melissa Maggard of Kentucky, Alevda J. Sizemore, and Joseph L. Sizemore, both of Washington CH; 19 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; siblings, Manford Sizemore of Beavercreek, Douglas (Lana) Sizemore of Alaska, James (Joyce) Sizemore of Columbus, Glenn Sizemore of Dayton, Richard Sizemore of Columbus, Cecil (Susie) Sizemore of Jeffersonville, Sylvia Plunkett, Mary Louise Husk, and Velma (Jack) Sharp all of Washington CH, Glenna Sizemore of Mason, Brenda Cash of Washington CH, and Dorothy Johnson of Hilliard; mother-in-law, Rothel J. Jones of Kentucky; special friend, Pat McDaniel and family; his canine companions, Cheske and Lucy. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

Friends may visit at the Summers Funeral Home on Sunday, May 7, 2017 from 4-6:00 p.m.  In keeping with Mr. Sizemore’s wishes, cremation will be observed. Burial will take place at the Fairview Cemetery in Jeffersonville at the convenience of the family.
