Jack Doyle Lewis

Jack Doyle Lewis, 

age 78, of Wilmington, Ohio, passed away Tuesday morning,  May 2, 2017 at the Quaker Heights Nursing Center in Waynesville, Ohio.  

 

 He was born January 26, 1939 in Totz, KY, son of the late Allen Cleo & Arena Marie (Parker) Lewis.  On July 19, 1963 at the Olive Branch United Methodist Church in Oregonia, Ohio, he married Patricia Ann Fisher Lewis, who survives.

 

Jack had attended UK and had graduated from Wright State University.   He so enjoyed golfing and spending time with his wife, family and friends. He retired in management from the Delphi/GM Moraine plant, had been involved in Habitat for Humanity in Beavercreek and Wilmington and was a Kentucky Colonel.  He was an active church member of the First Christian Church -Disciples of Christ in Wilmington.

In addition to his wife, other surviving family members are his son- Mike (Karen) Lewis, Waynesville; daughter- Kay (Dave) Allinger, Liberty Twp; 5 grandchildren-Kelsey (Sean) Allen, Nicole Lewis, Shaun Lewis, Mallory Allinger, & Austin Allinger; 2 brothers- Owen (Eunice) Lewis, Hamilton & Ralph (Judy) Lewis, Hamilton; 3 sisters- Joyce Wilder, Hamilton, Gail (Bob) Mitzel, Liberty, IN, & Carol Lewis, Hamilton; and many nieces and nephews. 

 

In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by a brother- Herbert Lewis.

 

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, May 6, 2017 at the First Christian Church-Disciples of Christ, 120 Columbus Street at North Walnut Street, Wilmington  with Rev. Tom Stephenson  officiating.  Interment will follow in the Miami Corwin Cemetery, Corwin, Ohio. Friends will be received from 9 Am to 11 AM at the Church.  The Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home, Wilmington, has been entrusted with the arrangements.
