Mary E. Crouch

Mary E. Crouch, 88, of Greenfield, joined the heavenly choir at 1:20p.m. on Monday, April 24, 2017 at Edgewood Manor in Greenfield. She was born on August 3, 1928 in Gregory, Michigan, the daughter of the late Milton W. and Effie Elizabeth Githens Dressel. On February 14, 1953 she married Harold Crouch who preceded her in death on January 23, 2014.

Surviving are four daughters; Anna Beth Wynn of Ludlow, KY, Crystal Crouch of Erlanger, KY, Carol (Rick) Anderson of Cincinnati and Karen (Mark) Hammons of Liberty Township, Ohio, one son; Paul (Cheryl) Crouch of Hillsboro, eleven grandchildren, one great-grandchild and two more on the way. Mary is preceded in death by two sisters; Ruth Wyatt and Edith Lauck, one brother; Paul E. Dressel and a son-in-law; Roy Wynn.

Mary was graduate of Findlay High School and then she attended Cincinnati Bible Seminary where she received her Bachelor’s Degree. She then went on to receive her Master’s Degree in Special Education from the University of Cincinnati. Mary was a Special Education teacher at Hills and Dales School where she retired in 1988. She was a very active member of the Greenfield Church of Christ where she had served as secretary, was the church organist for over 60 years, taught the Wee Threes Sunday School Class, she was a member of the Women’s Fellowship of the church, she was a member of the choir and was also the pianist for the choir. Mary volunteered for several years at the Greenfield and the Edgewood Manors where she shared her musical gifts with the residents. Mary continued to teach piano for many years.  Following their retirement, Harold and Mary worked together on many quilts which they enjoyed sharing with other people.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at 11:00a.m. in the Greenfield Church of Christ with Danny Dodds and Jay Fabin officiating. Following the service, Mary will be laid to rest beside her husband in Greenfield Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Friday from 5-8p.m. at the Greenfield Church of Christ.
