Linda Lou Phillips

LINDA LOU PHILLIPS, age 68, of Bainbridge, formerly of Washington CH, passed away on Sunday, April 23, 2017 at 8:10 a.m. at the Mt. Carmel West Hospital.

She was born on July 10, 1948 in Fayette County, to Ottis H. and Opal L. Watson-Warner. She worked for many years as a nurse’s aide at Court House Manor. She enjoyed camping, sitting outside in the sun, playing computer games, and being with her children and grandchildren.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Jay Phillips, whom she married on August 7, 1967; her daughter, Melinda Phillips; siblings, Alvin Watson, Melford Watson, and Elroy “Bub” Watson; brother-in-law, William “Bill” Gorman; and sister-in-law, Kay Watson.

Survivors include her children, Dorothy Phillips, and Tina (David) Thompson; grandchildren, Robert and Eric Beers, Sheria (Javan) Gore, David (Alyssa) Thompson, and Nakiya (Chelsea) Thompson; great-grandchildren, Hayden, Willow, Caydence, Eric, Spencer, Rylee, Jayden, Arika, Topanga, and Trinity; siblings, Ernest (Janice) Watson, Willie (Emma) Watson, Joyce (Bob) Roberts, Shirley “Toot” (Jerry) Carnahan, Kay Gorman, Jay Watson, Calvin (Marsha) Watson, Henrietta “Sissy” Payton, Roger Watson, and Georgia Watson; sister-in-law, Anna Kimbril; and her loving pets, Trapper, Hidy, and Scooter. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at the Judy Chapel with Kay and Faye Whaley officiating. Friends may visit at the Judy Chapel on Wednesday morning from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
