Dema Ann (Puffinbarger) Keaton

Dema Ann (Puffinbarger) Keaton, age 81, of Washington C.H. completed her worldly tasks and burst through Heavens gates to walk into the open arms of her Lord and Savior on the glorious evening of April 16th, 2017. Dema was born May 20th, 1935, in Williamsport, Ohio to P. Howard and Agnes I. (Donohoe) Puffinbarger.  She was a 1953 graduate of the Atlanta High School.  July 25th, 1953, Dema married Veryl G. Keaton, her husband of 50 years.  Dema and Veryl resided in New Holland, Ohio where they raised their three children Dave, Tim and Bethany.

     Dema gave herself to Christ on December 16th, 1974. She was a member of the Clarksburg Christian Church and played piano during the services, for many years.  She was an extraordinary wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. The level to which Dema was dedicated to her entire family and host of friends was beyond compare.  She had an unmatched ability to make everyone feel comfortable, accepted, and loved. Dema enjoyed gardening, cooking, crocheting, sewing, and caring for her grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other children.

     Dema was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Veryl, a brother, David Puffinbarger, and other beloved family members.

     Surviving to carry on her legacy of love are her children; David (Teena) Keaton of  Washington C. H., Timothy (Rhonda) Keaton of New Holland, and Bethany (Steven) Hiles of Washington C. H., sisters; Dawn Warner and Dana Corns, grandchildren; Heath, Anthony, Adam Keaton, Dustin Gulley (Shelli Wilson), T. J. (April), Matthew (Carrie) Keaton, Keshia Dudley (Austin Allen), T. Wyatt, Quade, and Jeremy Hiles, great-grandchildren; Gavin, Brooklyn, Mitchell, Rhiley, Kamron, Tyler, Luke, and Benjamin Keaton, Harmony Gay, and Cameron Wilson, aunts; Martha Barker and Mary Donohoe, special “Pal” Josie Hensley, as well as many other nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and many friends.

     A celebration of her exemplary life will be held at 1PM on Friday, April 21st, 2017 at the Roberts Funeral Home in Washington C. H., Ohio, with Reverend James A. Smith officiating.   Interment will follow in the New Holland Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 5PM to 7PM.
