Wilma Joyce Reser

Wilma Joyce Reser, 83, of Dayton, Ohio died Sunday, April 9, 2017, at 10:20 a.m. at Hospice of Dayton where she had been since April 4.

Mrs. Reser was born September 23, 1933, in Carter County, KY to Haskell Rufus and Rena Day Ferguson.  She lived most of her life in Dayton.

Before her retirement in 1994, she had worked 25 years in food service and five years in nursing at the Dayton Mental Health Center.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Curtis Reser in 1994; by a son, Samuel Joseph (Joe) Reser in 1996; a brother, Paul Ferguson and two sisters, Janice Haynes and Kay Collins.

Mrs. Reser is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Edwin C. and Diane Reser of Franklin, Ohio; three daughters, Claudia Coe and her husband, Ron, of Washington Court House, Deena Plemons and her husband, Tim, of Dayton and Mary A. Johnson of Middletown; eight grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; a brother, Ray (Buck) Ferguson of Washington Court House; five sisters, Jean Poole of Washington C.H., Betty Deskins and her husband, Robert "Butch," of Washington Court House, Marilyn Jester of Indiana, Carolyn Self and her husband, John, of Washington Court House and Ruth Long of Washington Court House.  Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be Thursday, April 13, 2017, at 1:30 p.m. at the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Washington Court House with the Rev. Joe Duvall officiating.  Burial will follow in the Highlawn Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 12 noon until time of the service.
