Carl William Thompson Sr.

Carl William Thompson, Sr., 88 years, of Hillsboro passed away on Saturday April 1, 2017 at the UC medical center in Cincinnati.

 

He was born in Reading, OH on October 6, 1928 the son of the late James Vernon & Erma Susan (Roberts) Thompson. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by four brothers, Willie B. Thompson, Robert Thompson, Ray Thompson, and James “Jr.” Thompson; four sisters Eva Thompson, Anna Mae Bartlett, Virgie Alexander, and Ruth Evans.

 

Carl was a US Army veteran having served during the Korean Conflict and retired from Ford Motor Company in Sharonville after 35 years as an inspector.

 

He is survived by his wife Brenda Thompson, who he married on January 25, 1960, as well as; three sons, Carl W. Thompson Jr. of Hillsboro, Stephen (Tracy) Thompson of Loveland, and John (Jennifer) Thompson of Lynchburg; one brother Donald Russell (Maxine) Thompson of Hamilton; three grandchildren, Destiny Thompson, Amy Poppaw, and Briana Hunter; and one great-granddaughter Emma Michelle Thompson.

 

Services will be held on Saturday April 8, 2017 at 3:00 PM at the Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro, with Dr. Dan Lamb officiating and military rites performed by the Highland County Honor Guard.

 

Friends and Family may call from 1:00 PM until the time of service at the funeral Home in Hillsboro.
