Curtis "Curty" Lynn Maughmer

Curtis “Curty” Lynn Maughmer 65 of South Salem died Wednesday March 1,2017 at his home.  He was born February 6, 1952 in Ross County the son of the late Curtis L. and Opal VanGundy Maughmer.  

He is survived by his children Carol Lynn Jordan of Bourneville, LeslieAnn (Daniel) Vickers of Chillicothe and Michael Leroy (Shannon) Maughmer ofNipgen;  3 grandchildren Sydney Leigh Hodge, Isaiah Curtis and Kainnan Glenn Maughmer; sister Bessie Ruth Elliott; sister-in-law Debra Maughmer and several nephews and a niece. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Kathleen Pollock and a brother Charles Maughmer.

Curty was a member of American Legion Post 14 of Bainbridge, the Eagles1325 of Greenfield, VFW 4736 of Greenfield and the Ohio Operating Engineers.  He was a laid back man that enjoyed the outdoors from the timehe was a small child.  He spent hours along the banks of Paint Creek hunting arrowheads, fur trapping, but mostly doing what he loved most fishing with his kids and grandson.

He loved his pets and loved working on his ’66 Mustang.  He was also a lifetime Bengals fan.  He got a big kick out of teasing his grand kids and buddies in good natured fun.  

Curty always put others before himself.  He will be remembered in his children’s and grandchildren’s hearts as their hero.  

Funeral services will be held 7pm Monday March 6, 2017 at the SMITH-MOORE-EBRIGHT Funeral Home of Bainbridge with Rev. David Maughmer officiating.  Friends may visit with Curty’s family from 5pm until the time of service.
