Dorothy Grace Watson

DOROTHY GRACE WATSON, age 88, of Washington CH, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, February 20, 2017 at 8:45 a.m. at the St. Catherine’s Manor of Washington CH.

She was born on March 23, 1928 in Highland County to Starley and Addie Reno. Dorothy and her husband, Earl, owned and operated Watson’s Office Supply. She was a long time member of the Heritage Memorial Church and served as the pre-school Sunday school teacher for several years. She enjoyed shopping, sewing, cooking, and being with her family and grandchildren.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Watson, whom she married on June 5, 1948; also three brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include one sister, Chloe Burnett; her children, Dennis (Desiree) Watson, Joni (Steve) Sword, and Joyce (Steve) Clay;  grandchildren, Jeremy (Randalia) Clay, Josh (Rhianna) Clay, Leslie (Greg) Cartee, Jeff (Angie) Sword, Amy Hess, and Bethany Wheeler; great-grandchildren, Landon, Andrew, Colter, Conner, Madison, Megan, Clay, Levi, Collin, Kaydence, Isabella, and Aubrey; and great-great grandchild, Lillian; sisters-in law, Lois Whitley and Eleanor Smith. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at the Heritage Memorial Church with Pastor Bruce Morrison, Rev. Joe Duvall, and Rev. Robert Carroll officiating with burial to follow at the Washington Cemetery. Friends may visit with family at the Church on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
