BOBBIE E. “BO BO” JOHNS, age 88, of Washington CH, passed away on Monday, February 13, 2017 at 6:40 p.m. at the Fayette County Memorial Hospital.
He was born on March 7, 1928 in Fayette County to Sylvester and Bessie Tate Johns. He had worked for 28 years at Tempo Trucking in Washington CH, and was also self-employed, hauling livestock for area farmers. Bobbie enjoyed Quarter horses and Standardbred horses. He served as a 4H, and Campfire Advisor, he also coached little league baseball, and loved his family. He was a member of the Fayette County Horseman Association.
Bo Bo was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Evelyn Johns and wife, Linda Green Johns, as well as 7 sisters, and 5 brothers.
Survivors include his children, Jeff (Sheila) Johns, Stacey Johns, Allyson (Eric) Brown, Robin (Brian) Ferguson, Wendy (Gary) Chambliss, and Joey George (Tracey) Reed; 15 grandchildren, and several great and great-great grandchildren as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, February 17, 2017 at 1:30 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Smith officiating with burial to follow at the Washington Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
