Douglas Anthony Houser

Douglas Anthony Houser, 56, of Blanchester, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, February 5, 2017.  His time here was done.  He touched everyone he met!  Those who knew him have lost a gift.  He was truly one of a kind and will be missed.  Mr. Houser was born June 16, 1960, in Wilmington, Ohio, son of the late Daniel Levi Houser and Jean Lillian Ruscher Houser.  Mr. Houser worked at Buckley Brothers in Wilmington for 31 years.

His loving wife of 34 years, Lisa L. Garrison Houser, survives.  They were married December 24, 1982.  Mr. Houser was the father to Daniel Jacob (Amy Jones) Houser of Owensville and Kristin Lyndell Houser of Blanchester; and Papaw to the light of his life, Jaelynn Adele Houser.  He is also survived by a brother, Ray (Barb) Houser of Mt. Orab; two sisters, Susie (Phil) Teboe of Wilmington and Rosie Manning of Blanchester; his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Terry & Sharon Garrison of Dixon, Illinois, Patricia & Barry Boggano of Clarksville, and Diane Salyers of Blanchester; his mother-in-law, Irma Peters of Blanchester; special friends, Werner & Lisa Crawford and family, Jim & Tammy Jones, and Mark & Donna Collins and family; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and his dog, Ginger.  In addition to his parents, a brother-in-law, Mike Salyers, is preceded in death.

Funeral services will be 12:00 Noon, Friday, February 10, 2017 at the Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home, 327 N. South Street, Wilmington, OH with Phil Nelson officiating.  Burial will be in Blanchester I.O.O.F. Cemetery.  Friends may call from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM, Thursday, February 9, 2017 at the Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home.
