Jackson Rolls In 73-26 Victory Over Washington Court House

Washington Court House remains win-less on the season after falling to the Jackson Ironmen Tuesday night at home 73-26. Washington struggled on the night but as new interim head coach Ryan Day said, we're looking for little victories. Day took over the program this week and suffered losses to co-league leaders Chillicothe and Jackson.

The Ironmen dominated from the begging to the end of the game, led by Senior Point Guard Caleb Wallis' 24 points, all but two coming in the first half. Jackson led 18-6 after the first quarter and increased that lead to 45-12 at the half. The Blue Lion's had a difficult time figuring out the Jackson defense and turned the ball over 14 times and shot just 5-20 from the field for 25%, including shooting 0-7 from three point range. Jackson on the other hand only committed two turnovers in the half and shot 54% on 18-33 shooting and were 4-9 from behind the arc.

Jackson eased up on their pressure defense in the second half and the Lions were able to get into some offensive sets, they were able to get the ball inside to Senior Drew Moats, who had 6 second half points but were never able to cut into the deficit. Jackson led 65-19 after the third quarter and outscored Trace 8-7 in the final period to take home the victory 73-26.

Jackson 6-0 (4-0) remains undefeated in the league and on the season. They were led in scoring by Caleb Wallis' 24 points, Boston Kuhn added 17 and Caden Donaldson had 10. They were 27-62 shooting for 44% and they made five three point shots. They committed just 4 turnovers and pulled down 28 rebounds. They were also 5-6 from the free throw line. They next play on 12/27 at Unioto.

Washington 0-7 (0-4) shot just 28% on the night on 11-40 shooting and were 2-13 from behind the arc. They shot 2-3 from the free throw line, pulled down 28 rebounds and committed 21 turnovers. Washington next plays at Miami Trace for Super Saturday. The girls play first at 6:00 p.m. followed by the boys at 7:30. Buckeye Country 105.5 air time will be 5:45 p.m.
