U.S. Congressman and former Buckeye wide receiver Anthony Gonzalez is set to propose a federal law to compensate college student-athletes. Gonzalez is a first-term congressman representing Ohio's 16th District and played for the Buckeyes from 2005 to 2007. On Wednesday, Gonzalez said he wants to properly address the issue of allowing student-athletes to profit from the use of their name, image, and likeness while playing college sports. Gonzalez spoke about California's recently passed law which goes into effect in 2023, saying three years is too long to wait and the issue needs to be dealt with immediately. (24/7 News)
