The Wilmington City Schools reported that there was no threat to safety about a report of a gun on a school bus Friday morning.
A student reported to the bus driver that another student was in possession of a gun. The alleged student was immediately searched and was not in possession of a gun.
The administration, with the support of law enforcement, conducted a thorough search at the bus stop, school, and student...and a toy gun was recovered from the bus stop. It was not brought onto the school bus or school grounds.
The school encourages students and parents to be vigilant, and thank the staff and law enforcement for quick intervention.
