11-year-old Ryan Collins of Naperville, Illinois, has had a rough year battling -- and beating -- cancer.
He was able to finish his treatments and beat the disease, thanks to everyone at Lurie’s Children’s Hospital of Chicago.
Ryan wanted to do something to show his appreciation for everyone’s efforts, so he set up lemonade stands with the hopes of raising money for pediatric cancer research.
It was a huge success. “Ryan’s Hope” lemonade stands ended up raising $4,300, which he gave back to the hospital.
Ryan encourages anyone facing medical challenges to stay strong and keep believing in yourself. And, he’s also going to keep his “Ryan’s Hope” charity effort going online and hopes that people will continue to donate. (WLS-TV)
