WCH Council Gets "Splash Pad" Ordinance Introduced

Washington CH City Council was introduced to the Splash Pad proposal, which was put on first reading Wednesday night.

.

City Manager Joe Denen says this legislation would enable the city to hire a contractor to install the splash pad on the site of the old city park swimming pool in Eyeman Park.

.

In the portion of the meeting for citizens to speak their mind, a Mr. Paige expressed his desire to change the city charter to a "mayor from of government" and do away with the "city manager form of government" the city currently has.

.

Councilwoman Kendra Hernandez believes the current system works better, because it does away with the four year election cycle for a mayor, that could see that continuous change which could cause less getting done between a mayoral administration as city council.

.

Hernandez expressed her pride in the way the city government is now working to make things happen for the betterment of all citizens of Washington CH.

.

Council will next meet on Wednesday June 25th at 7:30pm in council chambers.
