The Washington Court House Lady Blue Lions cruised to victory Wednesday night with a 45-21 victory over the Chillicothe Cavaliers.
Washington led from the start, as Coach Leach said "we wanted to come out and outplay them in the first four minutes of the game" and they did just that, actually the entire quarter as they outscored Chillicothe 15-3 and forced 6 Cavalier turnovers.
The Second quarter was much of the same as The Lions outscored Chilli 18-8 and forced 6 more turnovers to take a 33-11 lead into the half.
Washington was on fire in the first half shooting 15-29 for 52%, 3-8 from behind the arc and committed just 4 turnovers. Chillicothe was 4-20 in the first half for 20% and committed 12 turnovers.
The third quarter both teams slowed down quite a bit as Chillicothe outscored Washington 5-2 but the Blue Lions still held a 35-16 lead going into the final frame. Hannah Haithcock scored 6 of her game high 16 points in the final quarter as Washington finished the game with a 45-21 victory to put them at 2-0 in the FAC and 2-2 overall.
The Blue Lions finished the night shooting 21-64 for 33%, and were 3-10 from behind the arc. They out rebounded Chillicothe 32-10 and committed only 15 turnovers. Hannah Haithcock led all scores with 16, followed with Halli Wall's 11, Maddy Jenkins 10 and Rayana Burns 8.
Chillicothe shot 8-47 from the field for 17%, and committed 19 turnovers. They were led in scoring by Julie Hall's 8 points. Chillicothe now moves to 0-6 on the year and 0-2 in FAC play.
