Arrest Made in Hillsboro ATV Chase


A chase involving an All Terrain Vehicle and Hillsboro Police has resulted in at least one arrest. 


At approximately 11:50pm Wednesday, officers with the Hillsboro Police Department attempted to stop an ATV with two male subjects on it traveling on the roadway in the 100 block of Fair Street. The driver of the ATV failed to stop continuing to flee from officers. 


The subjects drove off the road behind a business in the 7000 block of Pea Ridge Road. Officers continued after the ATV into the brush field behind the business where the ATV was located stuck with the male driver attempting to continue fleeing. 


The driver was taken into custody and was identified as 39-year-old Chad A. Hibbs of New Vienna, Ohio. 


Hibbs was cited for Operation in willful or wanton disregard of the safety of persons or property, Failure to obey traffic control device. Hibbs was also charged with Failure to Comply and Obstruction of Official Business.
