Eldon W. Eastridge, Sr., 89 years of Hillsboro, passed away Tuesday, January 23,2018 at the Hospice of Hope Ohio valley Inpatient Center in Seaman.
Eldon was born May 13, 1928 in Streeter, West Virginia, the son of the late David Lee and Emma Grace (Basham) Eastridge. Beside his parents he was preceded in death by a son James Lee Eastridge and two brothers, Wesley and Mason Eastridge.
Eldon was a member of the New Vienna Church of Christ and Merchants Seaman Veteran. Eldon was very active in the masonic order being a member and Past Master four times of the Cornerstone Lodge #699 F.&A.M. in Cleveland, Past Master Highland Lodge #38 F.&A.M. in Hillsboro, Past High Priest Hillsboro #40 R.A.M, Past Ill. Master Hillsboro#16 R.&S.M. Past Commander Highland Commandery #31, Scottish Rite Valley of Cincinnati and received his KYCH. He was a member of the New Vienna Chapter #327 O.E.S. and Hillsboro Chapter #441 O.E.S.
On December 24, 1947 he was united in marriage to Sunnie B. (Nolan) Eastridge who have celebrated 70 years of marriage. He is also survived by two sons, Charles R. (Cori) Eastridge of Hammersville and Eldon W. (Gretchen) Eastridge, Jr. of Black Mountain, NC; seven grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, one sister, June Simpson of Greensboro, N.C.; several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M. Saturday, January 27, 2018 at the Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Burial will follow in the New Antioch Cemetery with Military Graveside Rites conducted by the Highland County Honor Guard.
Friends may call Friday January 26, 2018 from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the Thompson Funeral Home with Masonic Services to held at 8:00 P.M.
