MARJORIE A. EMRICK, age 80, of Washington CH, passed away on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at her home. She had been in failing health for the past two years and had become more serious over the past two weeks.
Marjorie had been cared for by her loving husband, John, and also by the staff at Hospice of Fayette County, who had become like part of the family. She was born on March 11, 1937 in Clinton County to William Kenneth and Violet Ruth Chamblin Ferguson. Marjorie was a member at the Greenfield Church of Christ.
Survivors include her husband of fifty-eight years, John Emrick; son, Ray (Stephanie) Emrick of Washington CH; her very special granddaughter, Courtney (Jimmy) Ellars of Washington CH; step-granddaughter, Bailey Fields and her fiancé, Bobby Johnson of Mt. Sterling; great-grandchildren, Camron and Carleigh Ellars, Rylan Fields, and Rori Johnson; special friend and second son, Scott Baker of Washington CH; brother, Dale (Betty) Ferguson of Bowersville; sister-in-law, Pat (Gary) Wisecup of Milledgeville, Georgia; and sister-in-law, Carrie Ferguson of Washington CH. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents, special sister, Donna Haley, and brother, Jack Ferguson of Washington CH.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, January 5, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Danny Dodds and Chaplin Jeff Davis officiating. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Friday evening from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service.
