Cary E. "Bo" Gilpen

CARY E. “BO” GILPEN, age 71, of Bainbridge, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at 8:45 p.m. at Mount Carmel East.

He was born on December 5, 1949 in New Holland to Eugene and Martha Marie Parker Gilpen. Bo has been an employee at Wal-Mart for the past twenty-four years; he worked in maintenance for several years before becoming a greeter. He was a current member of the Bible Baptist Temple in Washington CH. He enjoyed playing the bass guitar, listening to music, hunting, fishing, camping, following the Michigan Wolverines, and being with his family and grandchildren.

Bo was preceded in death by his parents, sister and brother-in-law, Linda (Jesse) Hicks, and brother, Joe Gilpen.

Survivors include his wife, Lois Marie Mark Gilpen, whom he married on April 16, 1984; his children, Wendy Gilpen, Rhoda Gilpen, Rocky Gilpen, Cory “Buddy” (Anastasia) Gilpen, Cody “Little Bo” Gilpen, Mark (Kelly) Johnson, Valerie Johnson, Amanda (Justin) West, and Rebecca Johnson; numerous grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; and brother, Rick Holloway. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 23, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Bible Baptist Temple, 4361 St Rt 41 NW, Washington CH, OH 43160, with Pastor Andrew Johnson officiating with burial to follow at Wheeler Cemetery in Lucasville. Friends may visit at the church on Saturday morning from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
