Lorna L. "Penny" Hollar

LORNA L. “PENNY” HOLLAR, age 84, of Washington CH, formerly of Springfield, Ohio, passed away on Friday, December 15, 2017 at 4:00 a.m. at the Court House Manor Nursing Home.

She was born on October 5, 1933 in Fayette County to Nelson Clemen and Grace Marie Turner Edwards. Lorna was able to stay at home and raise her children. She was a former member of the Moose Lodge in Springfield, where she received the College of Regents Degree, the most prestigious honor awarded by the Moose Lodge. She enjoyed bowling, the Cincinnati Bengals, the Ohio State Buckeyes, and being with her family and grandchildren.

Lorna was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald E. Hollar, whom she married on June 29, 1957; grandson, Christopher Wayne Johnson; siblings, Norma Jean Kelley, Ruby Longberry, Charlotte Lee, Barbara Ann Edwards, and Clemen W. Edwards; and six half-sisters.

Survivors include her children, Jenny (Sam) Young, Sheril (Doug) Hosch, both of Washington CH, Linda (Jim) Cooper, Pat Hollar, both of Springfield, and Donald Wayne (Debbi) Hollar, of Covington, TN; grandchildren, Nikki (Jimmy) Cooper, Brittany (Aaron) Stover, Dustin (Bethany) Cooper, Katie (Heath) Tira, Erin (Ross) Lawson, Ryan Hosch, Andrea (Mitchell Dunham) Hollar, and Hollie and Meghan Nutting; great-grandchildren, Cody and Paige Cooper, Logan and Kaden Fleak, Colten, Laylynn, and Brantley Stover, Khloe and Jackson Cooper, Jordyn Lawson, and Rowan Nutting. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins, caregivers at Court House Manor, and a host of friends.

The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with burial to follow at the Washington Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Monday evening from 4-8:00 p.m.
