JOHN B. HUSTON JR., age 62, of Washington CH, passed away on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at 11:03 a.m. at the Fayette County Memorial Hospital.
He was born on October 16, 1955 in Clinton County to John B. Sr. and Mildred Tucker Huston. John was a 1974 graduate of Wilmington High School. He had worked at Mac Tools in Sabina for over thirty years until it closed, and was most recently employed as park maintenance for the City of Xenia. John was the assistant soccer coach at Washington Senior High School before becoming the varsity soccer coach at Miami Trace High School in 2002. He enjoyed coaching, woodworking, fishing, and being with his family, grandchildren, and friends.
John was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Stella Myers, half-sister, Roxanna Streter, and half-brother, Andrew Surritt.
Survivors include his wife, Beverly “Chris” Canter Huston, whom he married on October 4, 1974; his children, Chaves (Jodie) Huston, Shawn Huston, and Scott (Neosha) Huston; grandchildren, Mollie, Rosalyn, Simon, Benjamin, and Madison Huston, Katia Detty, Olivia Huston, and Neola Huston; brothers, Grover Huston, Charles Huston, and Philip (Melissa) Huston; half-sister, Ernestine Page; mother-in-law, Geraldine Canter; brothers and sisters-in-law, Diane Nauss, James (Lucy) Canter, Ronald Canter, Richard (Patty) Canter, and Russell Canter; and his loving pets, Jasper and Ginger. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, December 1, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the Fayette Bible Church, 1315 Dayton Ave., Washington CH, OH 43160, with Pastor Tony Garren officiating. Friends may visit at the church on Friday afternoon from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service. In keeping with John’s wishes, cremation will take place after the service.
