Alice Rogers, 71, of Breese, Illinois (formerly of Martinsville, Ohio) passed away Friday, November 3, 2017 at Midwest Respiratory & Rehabilitation Center in Belleville Illinois.
Alice was born January 14, 1946 in Blanchester, Ohio, daughter of the late Virgil S. Oren and Mildred Stratton Oren. She is a 1964 graduate of Blanchester High School and a 1967 graduate of Mercy School of Nursing in Hamilton. She married William P. Rogers on March 5, 1966. He preceded her in death on May 12, 1967 while deployed to The Republic of Vietnam.
Alice served as a Nurses Aid, Licensed Practical Nurse and Charge Nurse associated with the Clinton Memorial Hospital as a volunteer, part-time and full-time employee. She also worked as a payroll and records clerk for Overseas National Airways, an office assistant for Dr William L. Regan M.D. of Wilmington and an over the road truck driver for Riss International Trucking.
After leaving Riss International, Alice founded her own company and became the owner/operator of AJR Trucking. Later in life she again took employment as a supervising nurse with Heartland Of Hillsboro and as a visiting pediatric nurse for Maternal Child Healthcare of Ohio.
She is survived by her son, Anthony (Eva) Rogers of O’Fallon, IL; a brother, Ronald V. Oren; a sister, Patricia (James) Ross of Paris Tennessee; a granddaughter, Ariana Rogers; niece Lara Thise (Brian) of Indianapolis, IN, nephew James Ross Jr. of North Carolina and cousin Carol Huntsman of Cleveland, Ohio.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Friday, November 10, 2017 at Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home, 327 N. South Street, Wilmington, Ohio with Bryson Thompson officiating.
