GLADYS ELIZABETH WOOD STREITENBERGER, age 70, of Washington CH, formerly of New Holland, passed away on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at 7:15 a.m. at Signature Healthcare of Fayette County.
She was born on September 20, 1947 to Robert and Betty Jane Ater Wood. She was a 1966 graduate of Miami Trace High School. Gladys worked for over thirty years at Piketon Nursing Center as their Admission Assistant. She enjoyed playing bingo, loved her dogs, and being with her family and friends.
Gladys was preceded in death by her parents, her long-time companion, Darrell Persinger, siblings, Robert E. Wood, and Judy Merritt, and brother-in-law, Lennie Reed.
Survivors include her husband, Pat Michael Streitenberger, whom she married on December 20, 2013; and siblings, Gary (Leah) Wood, Roger Wood, Albert Wood, Carol Reed, and Lynette (Robert) Kincaid. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
The funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 26, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Pastor David Leisure officiating with burial to follow at the Bloomingburg Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Thursday morning from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
