Wanda Aileen Lowe

Wanda Aileen Lowe, 93, of  Washington Court House, Ohio died Monday, October 2, 2017, at 7:30 p.m. at Fayette County Memorial Hospital where she had been admitted earlier in the day.

Wanda was born July 24, 1924, in Fayette County, Ohio to Jerry William and Helen Gertrude Carr Smith.  She was a 1942 graduate of Washington High School and lived most of her life in this community.

She was a retired office manager and had formerly worked at Cudahy's Packing Company, Lowe's Welding, Stage Department Store and State Farm Insurance.

Wanda had attended the First Baptist Church; was a member emeritus and past treasurer of Altrusa International of Washington Court House; had been a member of the Child Conservation League and Beta Sigma Phi sorority and was a former leader of Job's Daughters.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil E. Lowe on Nov. 1, 1979; by a daughter, Vicki Arnold on Jan. 17, 2014; a son, Danny Lowe on Sept. 18, 2016; a brother, James Smith; a brother and sister-in-law, J. Maynard and LaVerne Smith and a sister and brother-in-law, Doris and John Lonnis.

Wanda is survived by a daughter-in-law, Beanie Lowe of Washington Court House; a son-in-law, Don Arnold of West Jefferson; four grandchildren, Abby and Ben Arnold, both of West Jefferson, Becca Golden and her husband, Sean, of Worthington and Katie Lowe of Washington Court House; a great granddaughter, Dani Golden; a sister-in-law, Beverly Smith of Springfield, OH; nieces and nephews, Brad and Sue Smith, Sharon and Carl Hutzel and Pam and Bruce Gothard and her special friend, Bob Bishop of New Holland.

The funeral will be Friday, October 6, 2017, at 11 a.m. at the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Washington Court House with the Rev. Jeff Arnold, officiating.  Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 4-8 p.m.
