Ellen Marlene Sullivan 65 of Waverly passed away Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at the home of her Mother-in-law, Linda Sullivan, following a 3 year battle with cancer.
Ellen was born June 27, 1952 in Pike County to the late George and Norma Jean Lansing Hoffman. She was married 40 years, to the love of her life, Tom “Rusty” Sullivan, who passed away February 10, 2016.
Ellen was the proud mother of sons, Jeff (Misty) Sowers, Kyle Sullivan and Adam “Worm” Ritter. She also survived by her granddaughter, Taylor, who never left her side; grandsons, Jonathan and Hunter; sisters, Linda (Ron) Whitaker of Chillicothe and Coreena Hoffman of Greenfield; several nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly. Special cousins, Murice, Pam, Janice, Brenda and Emmely. Nedra Blanton whom she loved as a daughter and sisters-in-law who were like sisters, Jamie Russell and Kim Hollis.
Special thanks, to family and friends who helped her through her journey, those that came for visits and showed her love, Rhonda Elliott and Carl Cannon of Palliative Care at Adena; and Paula, Sherri and Vickie of the Hospice staff.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Elizabeth Sullivan, brother, Zale Courtney and stepfather, Joe Courtney.
Ellen worked at Adena Medical Center for 37 years. She had a host of friends that she knew throughout the hospital.
Friends may visit with Ellen’s family from 11 am until 1 pm Saturday, September 2, 2017 at the SMITH-MOORE-EBRIGHT Funeral Home, Bainbridge with funeral services at 1 pm officiated by Rev. Donald Houser.
