Wilbur R. Penix, Sr., 101 years of Seaman, passed away on Thursday August 17, 2017 at the Laurels of Hillsboro.
He was born in Scioto Furnace, Ohio on July 15, 1916, the son of the late Malcolm and Martha Ann (Jenkins) Penix. Besides his parents, he was also preceded by his wife, Edna (Sloas) Penix on November 3, 1992, five brothers and four sisters.
Wilbur was a member of the I.U.E CWAv#108, was a volunteer Fireman for 20 years for the City of Fairborn and retried, after 33 years, from General Motors in Dayton.
Wilbur is survived by his, two daughters, Cheryl (John) Cantrell of Seaman and Alice (Fred) Wheeler of Salyersville, KY, two sons, Wilbur “Bud” (Carol) Penix, Jr. of Hillsboro and Dan (Valerie Carter) Penix of Middletown, five grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and a host of friends. The family would like to thank the staff at The Laurels of Hillsboro for all their care and support.
Funeral Services will be 10:00 AM Tuesday August 22, 2017 at the Wallace-Thompson Lewis-Sullivan Funeral Home in Seaman. Graveside Service will be 12:30 PM at the Scioto Burial Park.
Friends may call from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday August 21, 2017 at the Wallace-Thompson Lewis-Sullivan Funeral Home.
