Jo Allen, age 88, of Wilmington, Ohio, passed away Saturday, August 5, 2017 at the Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio.
She was born April 26, 1929 in Layland, WV, daughter of the late Hartsel Floyd Frazier and Nell Scott Frazier.
Jo retired as a Sales Associate for K-Mart after 10 years and Walmart after 15 years of service.
She was a member of the Bible Baptist Church of Wilmington and the Clintonaires. She was a graduate of the Cincinnati College of Music with a Bachelor's Degree in Voice; Jo loved to sing and was an avid bird watcher.
Surviving are husband, Bert G. Allen of Wilmington, whom she married June 30, 1951, three daughters, Pam (Steve) Roe of Wilmington, Mary (Dave) Smith of Wilmington, Debbie (Jim) Leonard of Boynton Beach, FL, and one son, David (Lyn) Allen, of the Cayman Islands. Also surviving are ten grandchildren, Jeremy (Nikki) Roe, Jaime Roe, Desiree Leonard, Chase Leonard, Justin (Katie) Smith, Courtney (Stephen) Morgan, Aaliyah Allen, Zerah Allen, Zendaya Allen, and Aaron Allen; three great-grandchildren, Sophie Roe, Denae Jenkins, and Wayde Smith.
In addition to her parents, Jo was preceded in death by a son, Mark Frazier Allen.
Services will be held at Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home, Thursday, August 10, 2017 at 1:00 pm with Rev. Josh Dixon officiating. Interment will follow in the New Antioch Cemetery.
Friends will be received at Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home, Wilmington, Thursday, 11:00 am - 1:00 pm.
