Marjorie M. Dinnen, 85, of Jamestown, passed at home on Wednesday, July 26, 2017.
Born in Wapakoneta on October 28, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Caroline Kohlter Brautigan.
She is survived by her husband of almost 64 years, Clarence Dinnen. The two were married September 19, 1953.
Marjorie held a Bachelors of Science in Nursing from The Ohio State University. It was during her studies that she met her husband. While he was finishing his degree, Marjorie worked at the OSU Medical Center. She later worked as an assistant in her husband’s veterinary practice in Port William, and aided in their ministry work following retirement. Marjorie attended Faith Community UMC in Xenia. She was a devoted mother who enjoyed singing in several church choirs, music, reading, history, sewing, and gardening.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by their children: Clarence (Joan) Dinnen of Defiance, Jeffrey (Sharon) Dinnen and Lynn (Edward) Williams, all of Cincinnati, and Kirk (Connie) Dinnen of Mt. Vernon. Also left to cherish Marjorie’s memory are grandchildren: Stephen, Susanna, Hannah, William, Sara, Nathan, Matthew, and Anna; along with two great-granddaughters, Lillian Beatrice and Lillian Ray.
She is preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.
Family will receive friends at Port William United Methodist Church on Monday, July 31, 2017, from 12-2pm, when a funeral service will commence. Burial to follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Bowersville.
