Norma Jean Rumfield

Norma Jean Rumfield, 81 years of Hillsboro, passed away on Monday July 24, 2017 at her residence.

 

She was born in Highland County on January 17, 1936, the daughter of the late Henry and Ida (Helterbrand) Everetts. Besides her parents she was also preceded by two brothers, Ernest and Donald Everetts and one sister, Helen Griffith.

 

Norma was a 1954 graduate of Sinking Spring High School and the Chillicothe Beauty College, was a member of the Smith Chapel Church of Christ in Christian Union, owned and operated her beauty salon for several years and served as the Mifflin Township Clerk for 23 years.

 

Norma is survived by her husband, Robert “Bob” Rumfield, whom were married on August 27, 1954, three sons, Robert “Rob” (Lynda) Rumfield of Latham, Rick (Cindy) Rumfield of Hillsboro and Randy (Lori) Rumfield of Sinking Spring, nine grandchildren: Jimmy Rumfield, Candy (William) Cooper, Cecilia (Derrek) Holt, Christina (Matthew) Willey, Heath (Shannon) Holbert, Krystal (James) Scott, Samantha (Devin Pollard) Hudson, Heather Anne Cox and Chelsea Marie Rumfield, 13 great grandchildren, brother-in-law, John W. Griffith of Hillsboro, two sisters-in-law, Elsie Everetts of Rainsboro and Dorothy Everetts of Dayton and several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

 

Funeral Services will be 1:00 PM Saturday July 29, 2017 at the Smith Chapel Church of Christ in Christian Union, 10279 OH-124, Piketon, OH 45661. Burial will follow at the Dunkard Ridge Cemetery.

 

Friends may call from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday July 28, 2017 at the Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro.

 

Family request donations to be made to the Smith Chapel Church of Christ in Christian Union or ADENA Hospice.
